Situated on the north end of Navajo Lake, in southwest Colorado, Arboles is a community that once was part of the rail line that carried passengers, supplies and agricultural products into and out the the area until the 1950?s. Although agriculture is still an important part of the community, Navajo Lake State Park now share the interest of residents and visitors alike. Boating, hiking, fishing, horseback riding and camping are popular activities in the area.
The area attractions include improved and unimproved wildlife viewing areas and hundreds of miles of mountain trails. Navajo Lake accommodates both large and small boats as well as personal water crafts. There are also camping and picnic areas around the lake.
